Bundesliga clubs in the Champion League: Here’s the general reaction to the results.

Bayern Munich

Bayern cemented their place in the round of 16 with a win over Barcelona. It was a crucial game for both clubs. Barcelona had already found out its future after Inter Milan defeated Victoria Plzen. The game, therefore, carried an aura of pride for the Catalans. But Bayern had the final say in Camp Nou. The German Champions had less of the ball but dominated the game throughout the match. The score line ended in a 3-0 win for Bayern.

Borussia Dortmund

Dortmund also confirmed its place in the knockout rounds of the current edition. But the German giants had to fight a hard-earned draw against English champions Manchester City. However, due to Borussia’s position, Sevilla will drop into the Europa League. Borussia excellently defended and restricted spaces against Manchester City.

RB Leipzig

Leipzig produced the biggest surprise of Matchday five of the Champions League. The German club defeated the reigning Champions of Europe, Real Madrid, 3-1. The defeat inflicted by Leipzig is the only defeat suffered by Real Madrid this season. Leipzig’s participation is almost confirmed, barring any disappointments on Matchday six.

Eintracht Frankfurt

Frankfurt pulled off a much-needed win against Marseille. The 2-1 scoreline brings a ray of hope for their qualification to the next round. The last group stage matchday will determine everything.

Bayer Leverkusen

Leverkusen was involved in a chaotic match with Spanish side Atletico Madrid. The Roji Blancos had the chance to win the game with a 99th-minute penalty. However, Yannick Carrasco missed the opportunity. The final result, a 2-2 draw, resulted in the Spanish side crashing out of the Champions League.

All the German clubs had a great mid-week outing in the Champions League.
