Chelsea and Newcastle United interested in Real Madrid ace Hazard

Chelsea and Newcastle United are reportedly eyeing a move for Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard as per the report in ESPN

The 30-year-old joined Los Blancos back in 2019 for more than €100 million. However, the move has been a complete disaster for both parties as the player hasn’t been able to showcase his talent in La Liga and struggled with injuries and fitness issues at the Spanish capital.

According to the report, Real Madrid is looking to raise funds to engineer a move for Borussia Dortmund star Erling Braut Haaland next summer. The Spanish giants are also leading the race to sign Kylian Mbappe as the player will be available for free at the end of this season.

The report further claims that Chelsea and Newcastle United are showing interest in signing Hazard next season, but there is a doubt about the firmness of this interest.

Will Chelsea or Newcastle United make a move for Hazard?

Signing Hazard back might not be a good idea for Chelsea, given the player has had his injury problems since making the move to the Spanish capital, however, the Belgian could be a statement signing for Newcastle United.

The Toons are looking to build a squad under the new ownership, who will challenge for the biggest tournaments in future. So, bringing in an experienced campaigner of the 30-year-old’s calibre might be a good idea.

However, Hazard could be a risky signing for the St. James Park outfit as the Belgian has struggled with his injury. Hardly ever played a game at the Spanish capital over the last few campaigns.

So, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the 30, he has expressed his desire to stay at the club. But, Los Blancos hierarchy might sell the forward if a good offer comes on the table.
