Chelsea outcast Emerson wanted by Serie A clubs

Emerson might finally have a way out of Chelsea with Serie A all set to vacuum him. Three clubs namely Lazio, Napoli and Inter Milan are behind the left-back. The former Roma player will have to take one of these offers as minutes at Stamford Bridge have become scarce. He has not been able to seal his place in the squad, let alone make an impact.

He managed to scrounge 15 appearances this season. His lone goal involvement was his goal against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. He had come on as a last minute substitute and scored with his first touch. The Italian International tallied a total of 789 minutes across the entire season.

Neither Emerson nor Marcos Alonso impressed Frank Lampard and the club brought Ben Chilwell into the team. Serie A clubs have been after both the left-backs who have struggled to find minutes. It looks like Emerson is the one who will make it out.

Serie A always tried to get Emerson

Emerson had his first taste of European football at Serie A. Santos sent him on loan to AS Roma when he was 21. After going back and forth between the clubs, Chelsea signed him on a 4 year deal. His contract will expire by June 30, 2022. At a time when Antonio Conte was bringing the Premier League outcasts to Serie A, Emerson was on his list of potentials. However, the deal did not go through.

Under Thomas Tuchel, Emerson is unlikely to get anymore game-time. Marcos Alonso has been deployed as an additional wing-back when Chilwell has to move forward.

The deal is most likely to happen

Chelsea have a list of players they want to get to the club this season. Selling their third-fiddle left-back might give them the extra millions they need.

The Italian clubs have suffered financially during the pandemic and will look to negotiate a good deal. Emerson might finally find home.
