Despite criticism from some fans and media, Florentino Perez maintains good relationships with many Real Madrid players over the years. Some have even publicly praised his leadership and thanked him for his support.
Thibaut Courtois reportedly stated that he has a good relationship with Real Madrid President Florentino Perez.
“We have invited Florentino Pérez to our wedding and we hope he can come.”
Thibaut Courtois, the Real Madrid goalkeeper, revealed that he will be tying the knot with his girlfriend Mishel Gerzig soon. The couple met each other through Instagram during the pandemic and are currently residing together in Madrid.
“I get along well. He’s the boss. He wants us to win. I like his style, he’s very close. He doesn’t miss a game, something I hadn’t seen before in any director. He demands a lot from you, but he’s a great president.”
“He has achieved everything. It’s not like we send each other WhatsApps (laughs), but we talk before and after the games. In the box, he always comes over to chat with Mishel, with the families of the other players.”
Perez bringing success to Real Madrid for years
It seems that Perez has a shrewd business mind. He has been able to build strong relationships with both players and staff within the club. While he may come across as intimidating to some, his success as president of Real Madrid speaks to his leadership and management skills.
It is not that uncommon to invite bosses to weddings in general, but it is less common in football. Courtois recently suffered a mild injury while on international duty with Belgium. But he expects to return to training on Wednesday. Nevertheless, Courtois’ relationship with Perez does interest football fans around the world.
