Dimas Delgado Morgado the 38-year-old Spanish midfielder who plays for Indian Super League outfit Bengaluru FC. Have already bid farewell to the fans as well as the team.
Dimas has parted ways with the Blues, after an emotional dinner in Goa. Dimas thanked the club, organization, and the players. Delgado also wished good luck to the youngsters and told them to utilize the opportunity while they are in this club.
“When I came here I never imagined that I would spend, maybe the four best seasons of my life as a footballer. As a player I have enjoyed everyday here, because of you boys in the club. My family also enjoyed a lot it was because of you guys. So thankyou so much i will never forget this”. said Dimas in his emotional speech.
Delgado had an amazing career with the Blues, he has managed to put on a show whenever he was on the ball. An absolute fan favorite. the El Mago has played 67 matches in 4 seasons for the Blues. Delgado has made 4155 passes and 4658 touches despite playing much fewer minutes. These stats show how good of an asset he was for Bengaluru.
Not only that El Mago also has 75 touches per 90 minutes which are second to none in Bengaluru FC. He has also managed to win the league with Bengaluru.
A throwback to Delgado’s career so far:
Delgado has had a long footballing career, starting with UDA Gramenet in 2006. After that, he moved to FC Barcelona’s reserves helping them return to the Segunda division in his second season. Then Dimas joined CD Numancia in 2008-09 where he made his La Liga debut. But unfortunately, the team got relegated just after one season.
Dimas played in the Segunda division from 2009 to 2015 and finally moved abroad at the age of 32 to the A-League. In July 2017 he finally moved to Bengaluru FC on a one-year contract, but because of his impressive debut in the ISL. The Blues kept extending his stay. Until now, Dimas loved his stay in Bengaluru but every story has an ending.
