Erling Haaland continues his excellent form as he inspires Borussia Dortmund to victory over Union Berlin. The Black and Yellows won the match with a final scoreline of 4-2.

Dortmund are now victorious in their last three Bundesliga match after they lost away to SC Freiburg in the second game week. As for Union, the defeat to Dortmund was the first loss from them in the Bundesliga season, having won 1 and drawn 3 of the remaining matches.

The result keeps Dortmund in third in the league table with 12 points, just one point behind Wolfsburg and leader Bayern Munich. As for Union, the club is currently in the 8th position, level on points with local rivals Hertha Berlin.

HAALAND INSPIRES DORTMUND VICTORY OVER UNION

Dortmund started the game in the front foot and took the lead in the 10th minute. Raphael Guerreiro’s thunderous strike was too quick for Andreas Luthe to stop. The host soon doubled when Haaland headed in a cross from the right wing.

Everything seemed lost for Union when in the 54th minute an excellent effort from Marco Reus took the touch of Union defender Marvin Friedrich as it went in. However, Dortmund defence still raised questions as they conceded two goals to give Union hope.

The first of these two came as a result of a penalty taken by Max Kruse, while the second one came from a headed effort by Andreas Voglsammer. However, Haaland still had his say in the match as he scored second for him on the night to put the match out of Union reach.

The two goals scored by Haaland meant that he is level with Robert Lewandowski for the top scorer race with 7 goals. It also meant that the Norwegian have a ridiculous 68 goals from his 67 appearances for Dortmund. Dortmund will now travel to Borussia Monchengladbach for their next match while Union Berlin will face Arminia Bielefeld at home.
