East Bengal FC has officially announced the signings of four new players Siverio, Saul, Nishu and Borja. These are amongst the transfers happening in last week.

East Bengal FC announced the signing of Spanish attacker Javier Siverio

Javier Siverio and Saul Crespo, two Spanish football players, have signed on with Emami East Bengal on free transfers for the next season.

In his first season (2021–2022) in India, forward Siverio assisted Hyderabad FC (HFC) in capturing their first Hero ISL championship. Prior to joining HFC ahead of the 2021–22 season, the 25-year-old played for Spanish teams Las Palmas B, Racing Santander B, and Racing Santander after graduating from the UD Las Palmas academy in 2015. In 45 Hero ISL games, he has scored 12 goals. Siverio, who scored nine goals for HFC last season across all competitions.

East Bengal FC announced the signing of midfielder Saul Crespo from OFC

Saul, a central midfielder, was essential to OFC’s first-ever Hero ISL playoff qualifying and most recent Hero Super Cup victory.  Before making his debut in the Hero ISL last year, Saul, a Ponferrada native, played for Spanish clubs including Ponferradina, Atletico Astorga, and Arandina.

In 26 games across all tournaments last season, the 26-year-old played 2,054 minutes while scoring 3 goals and dishing out 2 assists.

Kerala Blasters defender Nishu Kumar has completed his move to East Bengal FC

Nishu Kumar has been allocated to East Bengal FC by Kerala Blasters FC on a one-year loan. The team however revealed it on Wednesday.

Nishu had 17 appearances in the 2022–23 Hero ISL. And recorded one assist, twelve interceptions, twenty-two clearances, and fifteen successful tackles. In addition, he participated in the entire Hero Super Cup 2023 season for KBFC.

Under the leadership of current East Bengal FC Head Coach Carles Cuadrat, the 25-year-old won the Hero ISL championship with Bengaluru FC (BFC) in the 2018–19 season. Additionally, he was a member of the KBFC team that placed second in the 2021–22 Hero ISL. Nishu is an ambipedal full-back. He will give the club a lot of versatility because of his exceptional ability to play on both sides of the game.

East Bengal FC announced the signing of spanish attacking midfielder Borja Herrera from Hyderabad FC

Borja Herrera, a Spanish midfielder, signed a one-year contract with East Bengal FC on Monday. The 30-year-old’s one-year contract with Hyderabad FC expired at the end of May, and he now joins the Red & Gold squad on a free transfer.

 Over the course of the 2017–18 La Liga season, Borja played for Las Palmas. He represented the Israeli Premier League team Maccabi Netanya in 2019 and also spent a season there.

Overall, Borja Herrera’s arrival at East Bengal can boost their defense, leadership, and overall performance. With his defensive abilities, leadership qualities, distribution skills, and versatility, Herrera becomes a crucial asset for the team’s success in upcoming seasons. East Bengal fans can anticipate his contributions and positive impact on the squad.
