Everton are looking to sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea in the upcoming summer transfer window. Everton are heading into the summer under Frank Lampard as their new manager. They have backed Lampard for a long-term project. Everton have already provided backing in terms of signings by getting Dele Alli on a permanent transfer from Tottenham Hotspurs.
Meanwhile, they also managed to sign Donny van de Beek from Manchester United on loan for the rest of the season. Reports are now suggesting that Lampard is looking to bring in Conor Gallagher from Chelsea.
Conor Gallagher has been a revelation this season. He is currently on loan at Crystal Palace from Chelsea. He has been Palace’s best outfield player this season. Gallagher has also scored 7 goals and assisted 3 goals, his best scoring return.
Conor Gallagher’s trajectory from Chelsea to Everton
Conor Gallagher has now had two successful loan spells now at two different Premier League clubs. He was first loaned out to West Bromwich Albion in the 20-21 season. He earned plaudits for his performances for the Baggies. However, West Brom went down fighting and were relegated.
Gallagher’s performances earned him another chance to play in the Premier League. Crystal Palace signed him up for this season. Patrick Viera vested a lot of trust in him and Gallagher has returned the favor with his performances. Gallagher’s performances also saw him win his first England cap.
Gallagher’s parent club is currently packed with world-class midfielders. The likes of Kovacic, Kante, and Jorgimho are all regulars and ahead of Gallagher in the pecking order. Everton and Lampard are looking to take advantage of Chelsea’s situation and offer Gallagher a permanent move to Goodison Park. The prospect of joining Everton and playing regularly under Frank Lampard will definitely help Gallagher improve. Lampard helped Mason Mount become a regular at Chelsea in his stint as Chelsea’s manager.
With Lampard’s guidance and support, the prospects for Conor Gallagher are very positive. Tuchel has also stated that he has not yet decided on Gallagher’s future. Hence, Everton will test Chelsea’s resolve in the summer and hope to lure Gallagher to the Merseyside.
