Ferland Mendy will cost €50 million, according to Real Madrid

The underwhelming 27-year-old defender Ferland Mendy will allegedly fetch €50 million from Real Madrid in the summer.
Real Madrid will gladly trade Ferland Mendy if a buyer makes an alluring offer, claims Spanish publication Fichajes. To get rid of the underwhelming 27-year-old left-back, Los Blancos will seek at least €50 million.

Prior to joining Paris Saint-Germain, Ferland Mendy began his youth career with Ecquevilly EFC, a club with modest beginnings. The Frenchman, however, never succeeded at PSG and went pro at FC Mantois 78. And ultimately, he made his impact with Lyon after getting his start at Le Havre. The player caught Real Madrid’s eye at that point.

The 27-year-old made an immediate impact at the Santiago Bernabeu after moving from Lyon to Real Madrid in July 2019. The French defender made such an impression at Real Madrid that he quickly replaced Marcelo. Additionally, for the past three and a half years, Mendy has been the left-back of choice.

But Mendy has failed for Real Madrid since sustaining a calf injury in April 2021. The player is also one of the team’s few weak points in a strong Real Madrid lineup coached by Carlo Ancelotti. So if the chance arises, Los Blancos could think about selling him during the summer transfer window.

When will Ferland Mendy join Real Madrid

Real Madrid will consider Mendy’s future while adopting the Casemiro approach. The current La Liga winners were content to keep the Brazilian, and when Manchester United inquired about him, they received a large transfer price in return. Mendy will also be included in this group. There are plenty of suitors for the 27-year-old as well.

Mendy has reportedly attracted interest from Chelsea, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain. Therefore, if the French international departs Real Madrid, he will have choices. The Merengues have placed a €50 million price tag on the underwhelming 27-year-old.

For him to leave Real Madrid, a potential suitor’s offer must be too good to refuse. It will also be intriguing to watch whether a club makes a bid of about €50 million to acquire Mendy’s services. The Frenchman will likely be replaced by Fran Garcia at Real Madrid the following season.
