Borussia Monchengladbach fans will be relieved after news emerged that their superstar midfielder will stay in the club next season. According to Bild’s chief reporter Tobi Altschaffl, Florian Neuhaus will be staying one more year at the club.
Florian Neuhaus has been heavily linked with Liverpool and Bayern Munich. While the player himself rejected any Bayern move, Liverpool were reportedly monitoring the midfielder’s development.
But any move now seems distant. Florian Neuhaus is said to have had a discussion with new Gladbach boss Adi Hutter. The chance for the German to stay with the club, at least for a year is now very high.
BAYERN AND LIVERPOOL INTEREST
Florian Neuhaus has become a subject of transfer rumours in Germany. The Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich is interested in signing the player. They however they face tough competition from the Premier League side Liverpool.
Bayern Munich were reported to have agreed on a contract with the midfielder, that will take him to Munich at the end of 2022. But Neuhaus was quick to reject such rumours and told that he is happy at Gladbach. The Bundesliga champions are keen to freshen up their midfield.
Liverpool on the other hand are closely watching the players development. There are reports that the Reds will be monitoring the players’ performance in Euro 2020. With Georginio Wijnaldum leaving the team, the club is looking to strengthen their squad.
FLORIAN NEUHAUS TO STAY FOR ONE MORE YEAR
Neuhaus is an excellent midfielder who joined Borussia Monchengladbach in 2017. He quickly made his name after a loan spell with Fortuna Dusseldorf and became a regular for Gladbach in the last three seasons. He has played 116 times already for the club and scored 16 times for them.
Often playing as a central midfielder, Neuhaus can also take a more attacking role and even play on the left side of midfield. He is a good passer and dribbler of the ball and likes to take long shots. His abilities earned his call up to the national squad. The 24-year-old played started 3 times for Germany and scored 2 goals.
With the discussion going well with Adi Hutter, there is more chance for Neuhaus to stay at Gladbach. But if someone wanted to sign the midfielder, they will have to pay something upwards of £35 million. A good performance with the German national squad will only increase this valuation.
