Given that Celta Vigo’s talented midfielder Gabri Veiga will not be retained beyond the current season. The 21-year-old has prompted Barcelona to compete with Real Madrid for his signature. According to Manuel de Juan for AS, Celta will not stand in the way of the midfielder leaving in the summer in exchange for his €40 million release clause.

Barcelona might have an edge over Real Madrid for signing Gabri Veiga

The athlete is currently being pursued by Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Barcelona. In addition Juan says that all of these doors are currently open. The journalist also argues that in Spain, Barcelona still has the upper hand over Real Madrid. Gabri Veiga understands that if he joins Xavi at Barça, his chances of starting as a starter will be greater than at Madrid.

So, for the time being, the midfielder continues to wait to see if the Catalan team can create room for him despite the team’s difficult financial situation. Real Madrid, on the other hand, will have no difficulty paying the sum, but they are also willing to wait. The squad is presently working on acquiring Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund. Veiga’s arrival at the Santiago Bernabeu will rely on the amount of departures sanctioned by the club. Real Madrid must sell some midfielders as they have a large pool of midfielders to pick from. So if someone departs, say Dani Ceballos, there will be space for him. Although it does not guarantee him a starting spot, he will be the first choice off the bench.

Despite the available possibilities, it is certain that the 21-year-old midfielder is not seriously considering a move abroad. Hence Barcelona and Real Madrid are the only two teams left in the competition. Thus the youngster is likely to choose the former.
