Herrera On Messi: “He is the best ever”

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Paris Saint Germain midfielder Ander Herrera has heaped praise on teammate Lionel Messi calling the former Barcelona superstar as the Greatest player the game has ever seen. It is no surprise as to why Herrera made these comments as almost everyone who has coached or played with the Argentine genius does end up calling him the best ever.

La Pulga left Barcelona last year due to the financial difficulties that the Catalans were facing. Paris Saint Germain were the first too offer the little magician a Mammoth contract for 2 years. The closeness to his friends in Paris made it an easy decision for him to make the move to Paris.

The 35-year-old had a mixed season at the Parc De Prince dealing with injuries and also hit by COVID-19. Despite a slow start, Leo picked up pace in the second half of the season, finishing with 6 goals and 15 assists in Ligue 1 and a further 5 goals in the Champions League. But the Spaniard has come to the defense of the Argentine.

” You are asking for 50 goals per season. From there , if he does not score them , people talk. Nor should we forget that Leo has hit the post 10 times this season. If those would have gone in , the season would have been very good for Leo. For me , he is the best of all time and I admire him even more for how he manages his day to day life with total humility.”

Messi Looking To Hit Back At Critics

With a slow start to his career at Paris, the former Barca maestro will be looking to show his best version for PSG with President Nasser-Al-Khelaifi confident about Messi performing for them next season. The Parisians will once again be one of the favorites to win the UCL with a star-studded squad that has failed on the European front lately. Messi will be looking to inspire the French champions to a maiden Champions League title along with the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Junior. The coming season will be a treat to watch.
