Hyderabad FC put 6 past Odisha FC at the BMC Stadium, Bambolim on Tuesday. The Nizams extended their unbeaten run to 7 games. This sees them move up into 2nd place in the league table. Garnering an impressive 15 points in 8 games, they trail 1st place by 1 point.

Meanwhile, Odisha FC’s struggles continue as they encounter rocky road in their bid to qualify for the top 4. They are now winless in 4 games and sit 7th in the league table. Their defense continues to let them down as they slip up once again. The highest in the league, they have now conceded 20 goals.

Hyderabad FC 6-1 Odisha FC: The Game

Hyderabad were threatening from the first whistle. They strung together a lot of passes and looked to have put their best foot forward. Constant pressure from the Nizams forced Odisha into erring, resulting in an own goal. An Edu Garcia free-kick deflected off Hector to put Hyderabad ahead (9′).

A shot from Javi Hernandez deflected off Juanan to end up in the net. It was another own goal from Juanan which brough Odisha level 15 minutes in. The Juggernauts found their mojo after the equalizer and were on the front foot. A shot from Isaac after 6 minutes unfortunately hit the woodwork.

Hyderabad easily dealt with the threat as they began to retain possession in their own half. Some good passes helped the Nizams take the lead once again via Ogbeche. A corner from Garcia found Ogbeche at the far post. The Nigerian forward lost his marker and climbed the highest to score and give Hyderabad the lead again. The first half ended with Hyderabad having their noses in front (2-1).

Second Half

Hyderabad came knocking early on in the second period and it was Edu Garcia who breached for them. Quick feet and sharp finishing from the midfielder made it 3-1. Garcia was at the heart of another goal. Pressing up the pitch allowed him win the ball in midfield. It was not long before the Nizams made it 4-1. Ogbeche was at the end of it once again to slot home for another brace (60′).

Hyderabad were near perfect in the second half. Javier Siverio made it 5 with his first touch after coming on in the 69th minute. A corner from Chianese found Juanan at the back post who nodded the ball in Siverio’s direction. The Spaniard was made no mistake as he pounced at the opportunity.

A foul from Bora on Siverio left the referee with no choice. A penalty to Hyderbad claimed by skipper Joao Victor made it 6 and ended a dominant display.
