ISL 2021-22: Mumbai City FC ropes in I-League winner Naocha Singh

The defending champions of the Indian Super League Mumbai City FC have acquired the services of defender Naocha Singh from I-League club Gokulam Kerala FC. The defender has signed a three years contract that will keep him in the club till May 2024.

The 22 years old, Manipur-born defender began playing football at the NEROCA FC’s youth team. Naocha then switched club and joined TRAU FC in 2017 at that time the club made its debut in the I-League 2nd division.

In 2018, he returned to NEROCA FC but this time with the first team and played for them in the I-League.

Later he joined Gokulam Kerala FC ahead of the 2019 I-League edition. The Malabarians participated in Asia’s oldest tournament Durand Cup. Gokulam Kerala FC won the Durand Cup for the first time that season. Naocha played every match for the club and provided one assist.

Naocha had another successful season with the Gokulam Kerala FC as the Malabarian defeated TRAU FC in Finals. The defender appeared in all 15 Fixtures.

New Signigns of Mumbai City FC

The Islanders have added last season’s Golden Boot winner Igor Angulo from FC Goa. Initially, Odisha were in talks with the striker. However, he decided to close the deal with the Champions. Furthermore, Cássio Gabriel will join the team on a loan from Brazilian Club Vila Nova. To fulfill the Asian quota Brad Inman of Australia will don the Islander’s colors.

Talking about the domestic signings Lalengmawia Ralte commonly known as Apuia has signed for the club. And defender Rahul Bheke parted ways with Bengaluru and signs for Mumbai.

Everyone will have their eyes set on the Islanders to see how they are going to defend their title. Sergio Lobera’s led team is almost set for the 2021 edition of the League.
