About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Former Rangers FC striker Greg Stewart has inked a deal with Indian Super League side Jamshedpur FC. After parting ways with Rangers FC, he found himself without a club. Eventually, he accepted the offer made by the ISL club.

Greg played his early football at Rangers academy at the age of 13. He signed his first professional deal with Cowdenbeath FC in 2010 and played 119 fixtures across four seasons with the club netting 36 goals. He joined another Scottish club Dundee in 2014 and once again performed exceptionally well and scored 22 goals from 77 fixtures.

Impressed with his early six years of professional football career Birmingham City FC that competes in the English Premier League (EFL) Champions signed Greg on a three-year deal. However, he could not get to play enough matches the reason being he went out on loan for three consecutive seasons.

Rangers FC roped in the striker on a two-year deal in June 2019. Over three years with them, he appeared in 21 matches and managed to add three more to his books. Additionally, Greg was part of the Rangers FC squad that won the Scottish Premiership 2020-21 edition.

Greg, the 31 years old striker can play at multiple positions and will be very handy to Owen Coyle. His vast experience playing in Scottish Premiership and Europa League will add more advantage to the ranks of the Jamshedpur FC.

With experienced strikers like Jordan Murray and Nerijus Valskis at the fray addition of Greg will further boost Jamshedpur FC’s attack.

Preparation and latest Signings by Jamshedpur FC

The club have added defender Eli Sabia to their squad from Chennaiyin FC. Furthermore, the Red Miners have acquired the services of star substitute Ishan Pandita from FC Goa. They have handed a one-year contract extension to their skipper Peter Hartley. Reports suggest that ATK Mohun Bagan’s defender Pronay Halder could join the club on a loan deal.

Head Coach Owen Coyle in his first season with the Jamshedpur FC helped them finish 5th on the table. Owen will be keen to help his club rank higher and reach the playoffs this season.
