Jamshedpur FC maintains their win streak for 3 days

JAMSHEDPUR FC VS GOKULAM FC

In this season, Jamshedpur FC is the only side to have won three consecutive games in the competition’s group stage.

Jamshedpur and Gokulam Kerala were well matched in the first half. With both teams possessing a similar amount of the ball and trying attempts on goal. However, it was a struggle in the centre of the park as the two teams fought for control of the game.

The Malabarians took the lead in the 33rd minute after Sourav outmuscled three Jamshedpur players and passed to Samuel Konney in a dangerous position. However, the Ghanaian forward slotted it in with ease. The goal drew shouts from the home supporters. They had gathered in large numbers to see their team play their final game of the tournament.

Their joy, however, was short-lived, as Jamshedpur received a response within minutes. It all began with a defense-splitting ball from Germanpreet Singh, who located Harry Sawyer on the move. To tie the game at 1-1, the Australian forward utilised his flair to defeat goalkeeper Shibinraj Kunniyil from close range.

Jamshedpur eventually scored the breakthrough they needed in the 58th minute. Farukh Choudhary exhibited excellent control inside the area and fired home through the goalkeeper’s legs to make it 2-1.

This time, it was Gokulam Kerala’s chance to come back and equalise. However, Samuel took advantage of a loose ball inside the area in the 62nd minute, dribbled past a couple of Jamshedpur defenders, and drove it from an uncomfortable angle.

The game became more exciting as both teams competed end-to-end for the winning goal. After multiple shots on goal early in the game, Ishan Pandita finally got the goal he deserved. The 24-year-old met Ritwik Das’ deft pass on the edge of the box and beat the custodian from long range to make it 3-2.

Jamshedpur FC will meet Bengaluru FC in the semi-finals on Friday after winning all three of their group games.
