Jaushua Sotirio, Kerala Blasters forward undergoes surgery

The Indian Football season is just around the corner and Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters newly recruited forward Jaushua Sotirio sustained an ankle injury during a training session.

Jaushua had joined Kerala Blasters from Newcastle Jets in the summer transfer window on a two-year contract. He had a frustrating start with an ankle injury, which will keep him out of football for several months. The player suffered injury during a training session in the club’s preseason.

However, Kerala Blaster FC through their social media handles announced that Jaushua Sotirio has successfully undergone a surgery and is now on the recovery trail.

Jaushua Sotirio has played for three clubs in the A-League – the Western Sydney Wanderers, Wellington Phoenix and Newcastle Jets. He was at his best for the Phoenix, scoring fourteen goals in the 65 appearances he made for them. Sotirio also scored 11 goals for the Wanderers in the 81 occasions he turned out for them. However, he had a decent season for the Jets, scoring the back of the net just three times. He is a player who has played in Club World Cup and AFC Champions League as well. Jaushua is a forward who is versatile and become a ghost for the opposition.

With Joshua’s departure, Kerala Blasters will have to find new player to play with Dimitrios Diamentakos along the front lines. It was unfortunate for the club and the player to have suffered from this injury even before he had the opportunity to play in Kochi. However, with the surgery taken place successfully, Jaushua will be hoping to recover and get back on the pitch as quickly as possible.
