Ronaldo: First Player to Win 400 Games in Top-Five European Leagues

Juventus legend Cristiano Ronaldo becomes the first player to win 400 games in Europe’s top five leagues this millennium.

The only players close to this record are Lionel Messi (365 wins) and Gianluigi Buffon (350 wins). Sunday’s game too brought up Ronaldo’s 100th appearance for Juventus so it was another day another record for the Juventus star.

Juventus came up against Genoa where they knew they had to win in order to keep the pressure on AC Milan. Ronaldo scored two goals from the spot as Juventus registered a 3-1 win in Serie A against Genoa.

Dybala’s goal in the 57th minute and Ronaldo’s goals in the 78th and 89th minute helped Juventus beat Genoa 3-1.

Juventus dominated in possession 71% and they had taken 18 shots against Genoa on Sunday.

Turn side struggled in the first half to score as the defence of Genoa kept them at bay. But however they continued pressing the defence which led to the deadlock being broken by star forward Paulo Dybala.

Dybala brilliantly used Mckennie’s pass to put Juventus ahead at the 57th minute. However, Genoa responded instantly with a goal from the former Juventus man Stefano Sturaro.

Juventus kept dominating and came closer to scoring but Genoa keeper Perin saved Ronaldo’s first attempt. Later on, Juventus scored two goals from the penalty spot to win it by 1-3 in the end.

Juventus maintained their unbeaten streak in Serie A and they have come closer to leaders AC Milan with a 4 point difference.

Serie A Champions have ended a tough week with an important win over Barcelona and they stay unbeaten in Serie A. Now they will look to continue this fine form and end this year with maximum points in their remaining fixtures.
