Juventus are reportedly looking to make a swap deal with Chelsea between Alex Sandro and Emerson Palmieri in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Sandro has missed a hefty amount of games for injuries and coronavirus this season. However, he became a first-team left-back for the Bianconeri since his return from his fitness issues. He made 26 appearances in all competitions this season.
The situation of Emerson at Chelsea is much more complicated. He hasn’t had his greatest of times at Stamford Bridge. His appearances for the Blues are very limited. He has only started in 7 games this season with only two appearances in Premier League without a single start.
Can Juventus make the swap deal with Chelsea?
According to reports, Juventus are admirers of Chelsea’ Italian left-back Emerson and are keen to explore the possibility of a swap deal with Sandro during this summer’s transfer window.
Juventus bought Alex Sandro from FC Porto for €26 million in August 2015. The 30-year-old Brazilian international has a contract with the Bianconeri until June 2023.
Chelsea signed Emerson from AS Roma in January 2018 for €20 million during Antonio Conte’s tenure. Currently, the Chelsea left-back has a contract with the Blues until June 2022.
Thomas Tuchel is an admirer of Sandro and he was very close to joining Tuchel’s former side, PSG, in 2018. This deal could be a very good deal for both parties. As Juventus will get their main target man and Emerson will be able to return to Serie A and play regular first-team football.
Chelsea will get a top-class experienced defender from Juventus who can serve the Blues as a left-back in back four and also as a left-center-back in back three which is the preferred formation for the new Blues manager Thomas Tuchel.
