Juventus is interested in signing Jordi Alba from Barcelona in January

Jordi Alba

Jordi Alba has been one of the most important players for Barcelona in the last decade. However, the Spanish fullback fell down the pecking order at Camp Nou in the recent past. The emergence of Alejandro Balde has become an important roadblock in the first-team aspirations of Jordi Alba.

Xavi Hernandez has preferred the youngster over the Spanish international and has not started the latter in any of the matches this season since the opening day. Barcelona wanted to offload the Spanish fullback in the summer on a loan deal. However, the fullback refused to move away and instead wanted to fight for his place at the Blaugrana.

The club wants to offload the player to relieve themselves of his huge wages. Barcelona can attempt to offload the player again in January along with vice-captain, Gerard Pique. There is interest in the player from Serie A again. Juventus has expressed their interest in signing the full-back in January.

Jordi Alba has struggled to perform as per expectations

The Spanish international has underperformed whenever he has been deployed at the left-back position. Jordi Alba has even lost his place in the National team due to inconsistent performances. Jose Gaya and Marcos Alonso have been used in the recent games by Manager, Luis Enrique.

However, Juventus believes that the Spanish full-back just needs a change in scenery to turn his form around. Barcelona will not mind offloading the player as they have able replacements in Marcos Alonso and Alejandro Balde.

Alex Sandro has struggled to keep up with the pace of the matches this season and is on the decline. Juventus needs to replace the Brazilian with an experienced player who can bring leadership to the squad as well. Jordi Alba fulfills all such requirements of the Bianconeri and can be a crucial signing for the club amidst poor form!!
