Kalina Rangers win the Red Bull Neymar Jr’s Five India

Kalina Rangers are the winners of the Red Bull Neymar Jr’s Five India 2021. Over 2700 teams participated in the qualifiers held 18 cities across the country. The winner of every city’s qualifier made it to the final even held at the Ella Ground, Carambolim, Goa. Out of the 18 teams, 4 teams moved into the semi-finals.

Kalina Rangers (Goa) faced Black & White FC (Kochi) while Sunny Boys (Pune) faced Zack FC (Delhi). Both the games ended with a nervous 1-0 score-line with Kalina Rangers and Sunny Boys emerging victorious. The victors faced each other in the final with Kalina Rangers grabbing the trophy with a 2-0 victory.

The champions Kalina Ranger will now play in the World finals in Qatar later this year. They will meet Neymar Jr and compete with teams from around the world. The experience will surely be an eventful affair that the players will never forget for the rest of their lives. Pure happiness and good vibes only.

Kalina Rangers in familiar ground

It is interesting to note that Kalina Rangers (Mumbai) were the winners of the 2019 edition. They played the World Finals in Brazil that year and had an unforgettable experience. Danish Khan, Melvin Barboza, Craig Dsouza, Johnson Dsilva, Scott Moraes, Dion Menezes and Clinton Dsouza are the players who will play in Qatar.

Clinton Dsouza has been over the moon after his team’s win. He explained how the team trained in these challenging time. He thanked the organizers for hosting the tournament that give young talent a platform to perform and grow.

The Red Bull Neymar Jr’s Five is an international event for players aged between 16 to 35. A 5v5 that is 10 minutes of intense play. Quick passing, cheeky skills, stunning skills, all kinds of skills. After a team scores, the opponent loses a player. Thus it’s all about getting the first goal as fast as possible. Comebacks are rare and are some piece of composure and skill to watch.
