Kylian Mbappe is doubtful to feature for PSG against Real Madrid in the UCL Round of 16. Both the clubs will face each other in February with an ambition to proceed to the next rounds. Real Madrid will look to continue their resurgence in the UCL too after some extraordinary performances in La Liga. PSG on the other hand are vying for their maiden Champions League trophy and they will hope for a positive result.

However, they might have in form Kylian Mbappe ruled out of the clash against the Los Blancos. Mbappe has been the French side’s most influential and best layer during this campaign. Despite being linked with a move away from PSG last summer, he has come out as the most important player this season. Meanwhile, reports are indicating that the Frenchman has sustained an injury that could keep him out for at least a few weeks.
Mbappe is likely to miss the first leg of the UCL Round of 16 clash against Real Madrid due to an adductor injury
According to PSG’s official injury report, the 23-year-old has sustained an adductor injury. There is no clarity regarding his unavailability due to his injury. An adductor injury usually takes a few weeks to completely heal and PSG will face Madrid on February 14. The former Monaco man is expected to recover by 3-4 weeks and he could miss the first leg.
It will be a major blow for PSG and their chances of making it to the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Neymar and Messi have also struggled with similar problems of injury and inconsistent form. Mbappe has been exceptional throughout this season. He has carried the team towards the finish line and pulled off positive results a lot of times this season. He has been playing like their marquee man even with Neymar Jr and Messi around him.
Mbappe’s injury will prove to be beneficial for Real Madrid. They can try to make the best out of this situation and win by as many goals as possible in the first leg. It’ll give them a much-needed cushion before the second leg at home.
