Injury Situation
Due to an injury that caused him to miss six straight games. All of which Inter Miami happened to lose. Lionel Andres Messi was unable to lead the Miami squad to the MLS play-offs. Despite winning 12 of his 13 games in the starting lineup.
In the event that they do not qualify for the playoffs, there have been whispers of a possible loan return to Europe in the off-season, something that players like as Robbie Keane, David Beckham, and Landon Donovon have all done to stay match-fit.
Future Plans of Lionel Andres Messi
Predictably, the most of those speculations have focused on Messi’s brief return to Barcelona, who attempted to recruit him again prior to his transfer to Inter Miami.
Messi, however, answered, “No,” when asked about a loan transfer in the winter.
“We’re sorry not to have qualified. We were quite near. I was absent from the previous several games due to many injuries. We had an extremely difficult month of July; we travelled and played every three days. But we prevailed in a competition, which is significant for the team.
“I’ll work out, play our next game [against Charlotte FC], and do everything in my power to join the national team as soon as November arrives.
Holidays and Work Ahead
“I’ll spend my holidays in Argentina after that. For the first time, I’ll get extra time off in December thanks to the holidays, peace of mind, and my loved ones. I’ll be back in January to work on preseason. As usual, start from beginning and make the best preparations you can.”
In Argentina’s most recent World Cup qualifying match, Lionel Andres Messi made a comeback and scored twice in a 2-0 victory over Peru. However, he was not to be found for Miami’s last MLS regular season match.
