Lionel Messi has responded to reports. Following the conclusion of the Major League Soccer season, he may go on loan from Inter Miami.
Transfer Rumors
In order to maintain his match fitness for Argentina’s matches, the 36-year-old had been linked to short-term loan transfers to Manchester City, Saudi Arabia, and his previous club Barcelona.
After their match against Charlotte FC on Saturday, Inter Miami’s season will conclude since they were not selected for the MLS playoffs.
Messi doesn’t appear to be planning to depart the country anytime soon, either.
Lionel Messi Talks out
After Argentina defeated Peru 2-0 in World Cup qualifying on Tuesday, in which he scored both goals, the World Cup winner stated, “It’s unfortunate [that we didn’t make it to the Major League Soccer playoffs].”
We were quite close. I was absent from the previous several games due to many injuries. We had an extremely difficult month of July; we travelled and played every three days.
“But we won a tournament, which is important for the club and for what is coming next year.”
Lionel Messi continued by outlining his goals for the remainder of the season. Reiterating that he would take time off the pitch while still trying to maintain the greatest physical condition. To secure his spot for Argentina.
Future Ahead
“I will train, I will play our upcoming match [against Charlotte FC] and I will try to get here [to the national team] in the best possible way for November,” Lionel Messi stated.
“I’ll spend my holidays in Argentina after that. For the first time, I’ll get extra time off in December thanks to the holidays.
“I’m coming back in January to work on preseason. As usual, start from beginning and make the best preparations you can.”
Given his amazing run for Inter Miami, it is hardly surprising that teams are lining up to sign the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner on loan.
Before getting hurt in September during Argentina’s 1-0 victory over Ecuador, Messi had 11 goals in 11 matches with his new team.
