Liverpool manager praises the potential of Stefan Bajcetic

Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp has lauded the potential of the injured Premier League club Liverpool youngster, Stefan Bajcetic. After missing the final months of the previous season, Bajcetic is once again in the sidelines. Currently dealing with an ailment resembling growing pains.

The 18-year-old has faced a period of frustration, but during his pre-Luton Town press conference today, Klopp provided fans with assurance that Bajcetic remains a part of his future plans.

Liverpool manager said: “We don’t know. With Stefan it’s again one of these things. Let me say it like that: Stefan’s quality, potential, talent everybody could see and it’s incredible. What a player. But the body was not ready yet. That’s how it is, they’re still growing these boys.”

Fortunately, Liverpool has ample midfield options to fill in while they patiently await Bajcetic’s recovery. Nonetheless, the situation remains disappointing. It’s important to note that nobody is at fault, and Klopp’s decision to wait is entirely justified. It’s better for Stefan to take all the time he requires for a full recovery rather than risk being rushed back prematurely.

What does Liverpool plan to do with Bajcetic?

Similar to the situation with Kaide Gordon last year, there is a concern that Liverpool might miss out on another exceptional talent. Gordon has not made another first-team appearance since his last one nearly two years ago. Despite initially appearing as a genuine option for Klopp, the young talent has somewhat slipped off the radar.

There’s a hope that a similar fate doesn’t befall Bajcetic, but the longer his absence persists, the greater the risk. As Jurgen Klopp highlights, the young Spaniard possesses the potential to become a genuine star for Liverpool. He demonstrated his ability by not appearing out of place when he made his senior debut at the tender age of 17 last year.

When Liverpool faced midfield difficulties over the New Year, Bajcetic stepped in admirably until his injury. The team has since acquired reinforcements, but there’s a strong belief that Bajcetic would have had opportunities to gain playing time throughout the season if not for his injury. The hope remains that he’ll return to the pitch before too long.
