Liverpool player ratings after an impressive win over West Ham

Liverpool continued their winning streak in the Premier League. That is with a 3-1 victory over West Ham in an exciting match at Anfield. Meanwhile, below are the player ratings from the game. They made Liverpool move into second place in the standings, now just two points behind Manchester City.

Liverpool player ratings of Goalkeeper and defenders:

Alisson Becker:- 8, He couldn’t prevent Jarrod Bowen from scoring just before halftime. However, Alisson Becker’s ‘world-class’ saves throughout the match prevented West Ham from scoring more goals.

Joe Gomez:- 6, Filling in for Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez had a challenging task against the in-form Lucas Paqueta. Paqueta performed impressively against the 26-year-old defender.

Joel Matip:- 5, Given the start by Jurgen Klopp, Joel Matip’s performance against West Ham left much to be desired. The opposition managed to exploit the defender’s weaknesses to their advantage.

Virgil van Dijk:- 7, Back in the Liverpool starting lineup for the Premier League after his suspension, but his absence alongside Ibrahima Konate in defense was noticeable. He did assist Diogo Jota late in the game.

Andy Robertson:- 6, Showed his prowess in the attacking half but was somewhat lax in his defensive duties, allowing Jarrod Bowen to exploit Liverpool’s backline with ease and precision.

Liverpool player ratings of midfielders:

Dominik Szoboszlai:- 7, Displayed his customary finesse in midfield and played a central role in Liverpool’s midfield actions. Thus, causing difficulties for West Ham in containing the Hungarian.

Alexis Mac Allister:- 5, He provided an assist for Darwin Nunez. However, Alexis Mac Allister continued to struggle in the holding midfield role. Jurgen Klopp may need to devise a different plan for him. Since, the Argentine doesn’t appear to be proper to playing in a deep-lying position.

Curtis Jones:- 6, Unfortunate to have a goal disallowed for offside just before halftime, but the England youth international once again delivered a solid performance for Liverpool.

Liverpool player ratings of forwards

Mohamed Salah:- 8, Won the penalty in the first half and calmly converted it from the spot to give Liverpool the lead.

Darwin Nunez:- 7, Made a strong statement for Liverpool with an impressive goal that put the Reds ahead. Nunez showcased his ability with a remarkable flying finish that made a difficult task look effortless.

Luis Diaz:- 7, Liverpool’s liveliest attacker for much of the game, playing a pivotal role in the Reds taking the lead against West Ham in the first half.
