Difficult night for PSG who were eliminated from the Champions League in pain after losing 2-0. Party night for Manchester City who finally reach the final of the Champions League. PSG lost the tie 4-1.

A special tribute to Mahrez who scored one goal in the first leg and two in the second leg. The match gave a lot of disappointment and frustration to PSG and their fans.

The Cityzens controlled the game from the beginning to the end. Despite some good actions from PSG players, Manchester City had some very good periods of play.

Manchester City 2-0 PSG Teams News :

On the side of Manchester City, Guardiola opted for a formation in 4-4-2. While Mauricio Pochettino opted for a 4-3-3 formation.

These compositions showed quite strong choices on both sides. They were marked by successes and defeats. Kylian Mbappe started the game on the bench. He injured his calf during the first leg at the Parc Des Princes

“We waited and we talked with the medical staff, in agreement with him. We made the best decision for everyone. He did everything to be there, but it was impossible” – Mauricio Pochettino, coach of Paris Saint-Germain.

Manchester City 2-0 PSG Post-Match Analysis :

The match started well for the away side on this frozen field. At first, there are some technical errors on the side of Manchester City. However, this delay was quickly made up by Riyad Mahrez’s goal in the 11th minute. The goal was scored in large part thanks to the long assist from Ederson.

PSG needed to score two goals to take them to extra time. They were far from being bad in the first half. The Parisian team had a very good technicality and 90% of their passes were successful. The tactics proposed by Pochettino were rather well executed.

In the 63rd minute, Mahrez scored again and took away the possibility of victory for PSG. The combination of Phil Foden, Kevin De Bruyne, and Mahrez worked very well again. The disappointment continued a few minutes later with Angel Di Maria’s red card.

Neymar had many opportunities but always failed to make the right choices when making decisions. Marquinhos also made some nice actions but they did not end up. Icardi, who replaced Mbappe in the team, couldn’t do much to help the team either.

At no time during the game did Manchester City seem to be in danger. The English club was already coming with more confidence after their victory in the first leg.

Notable performances :

Riyad Mahrez (Man of the Match) (10/10): After a MOTM performance in the first game, Mahrez doubled down and put up another MOTM performance.

Ederson (8.5/10): The goalkeeper allowed a lot of opportunities to his team. His long passes directly led to the first goal of the night.

Kevin De Bruyne (8.5/10): The Belgian was able to show his game during this 2nd leg of the UCL semi-final. He organized the game thanks to his precise and thoughtful passes.
