Manchester City is on the lookout for a striker and is now looking to sign Erling Haaland. But with a release clause of €75 million to take effect from 2022 for the Norwegian, top clubs across Europe are on high alert.

The Premier League champions are said to go one step ahead. According to Norwegian football expert Andrew Korssund, Manchester City will hold a meeting with Mino Raiola, agent of Haaland, in January.

After their failed pursuit of Harry Kane in the summer, Manchester City is turning their attention to Haaland. The Norwegian is scoring goals for fun and currently is playing for the German side Borussia Dortmund.

HAALAND THE NEW TARGET FOR MANCHESTER CITY

Pep Guardiola is eager to bring in a new striker to his team. The departure of club legend Sergio Aguero was not addressed in the summer and only Gabriel Jesus is the other traditional striker on the side. With Tottenham Hotspur not ready to sell Harry Kane, Manchester City will now turn to Haaland.

Erling Haaland is one of the hottest properties in the sport right now. He has scored a ridiculous 68 goals in 67 appearances for Dortmund since joining them. His pace, strength and finishing make him one of the best strikers in the world at the moment.

This has rightfully made him a point of transfer rumour. All the top clubs in the world are chasing his signature and are monitoring the situation. His current club Dortmund also wants to keep hold of him and are ready to double his salaries. But Haaland’s demand could be too much for the Black and Yellows as they will be forced to sell him.

Apart from Manchester City the clubs interested in the player include Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, PSG, Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid. With all most all the top clubs wanting his signature, City is trying to go a step ahead by meeting his agent Raiola in January. It will be an interesting few months as the doubts surrounding Haaland’s future will surely dominate the news.
