Manchester United: De Jong, Eriksen and Evanilson

Manchester United

Manchester United is desperate to redeem itself by bringing in new players like Evanilson, Frenkie De Jong, and Christian Eriksen.

The Red Devils have sacked Ralf Ragnick and appointed Erik Ten Hag as their new coach. The Dutch manager showed some severe development with Ajax and fans expect the same magic in Manchester. The Dutchman will want to see new players following Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani, and Jesse Lingard’s exits.

United targets Evanilson

The 20-time English champions have made a move for Porto’s forward Evanilson ahead of the 2022-23 season. But due to the Brazillian’s lack of interest, United is making a new offer.

The 2021-22 season saw the 22-year-old in fine form for his team. Netting 21 goals and assisting 5 times in 46 matches across all tournaments. A solid reason for drawing attention from Manchester United.

Man United made an offer for the striker of £51.6 million & £4.3 million for other achievements, but Porto quickly rejected it. This then led to a new offer from England reaching up to a staggering £68.8 million showing Erik Ten Hag’s interest in the 22-year-old.

De Jong and Eriksen at Old Trafford?

The word has it that Christian Eriksen and Frenkie De Jong could see their presentation for Manchester United at the Old Trafford for the 2022-23 Premier League season.

Frenkie De Jong

According to Marcel Van Der Kraan a Dutch journalist, Ten Hag is keen on signing Frenkie De Jong from Barcelona. This also led Man United to negotiate a contract with Barcelona for the former Ajax midfielder.

The Champions League 2019 season witnessed an Amsterdam magic led by Erik Ten Hag. Since Frenkie De Jong was a part of that tremendous run, United fans and Ten Hag himself wish to land the 25-year-old from Catalonia.

De Jong was a key member of Barcelona’s line-up this season, but he is reportedly open to leaving the Camp Nou as the Catalan club seeks to alleviate its financial woes. This again becomes United’s advantage in seeing the Dutchman in red next season.

Christian Eriksen

As Christian Eriksen gears up to depart Brentford, the Dane is rumored to have been offered a new contract by the three-time Champions League champions.

In 11 League Matches for the Bees in the later stages of the tournament, the former Inter Milan player netted the ball once and assisted on 4 occasions. He has now reportedly decided to leave as a free agent, with his previous club Tottenham Hotspur also reportedly expressing interest.

“I have different offers and options, which we are considering, and then we make a decision. Would love to play Champions League football again. I know how much fun it is, but it isn’t essential for me,”

Eriksen told reporters from Viaplay.
