Since Eduard Romeu, vice president of economics for FC Barcelona hinted for a “possible” summer transfer for Messi from PSG to FC Barcelona, speculations are ripe. Even the mere possibility of this move has brought smiles all-round the faces of Barcelona fans across the world.

Messi’s homecoming from PSG To Barcelona

Every FC Barcelona fan is waiting to see the star striker back at Camp Nou. FC Barcelona has never been like it once was without Messi. Even Messi has been a mere shadow of his former self. It is a couple “Made in Heaven”. Moreover, the financial and brand value of Messi is undeniable.

What are the possibilities?

The Catalan giants could not respect the terms of the contract which they had agreed with the Argentina international due to some financial constraints, which led to a seven-time Ballon d’Or exit from the club. However, still, Barcelona’s financial problems have persisted, forcing the La Liga team to sell off major assets this summer in order to pay for transfers.

Romeu is adamant, though, that Barcelona is capable of making Messi an enticing deal should he decide to leave PSG at the end of the current campaign. Meanwhile, Xavi, head coach of FC Barcelona has admitted he would like to see Messi return to Camp Nou.

Messi won ten La Liga titles and four Champions League titles for the Spanish club, however, he has indicated that he could remain with the French club for another year. This season Messi has already scored six goals. He also provided eight assists. Eight goals were scored for Argentina too.

Also, it does not look like PSG would be very eager to sell Messi. For the French giant, having Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe in one single team is a dream. They have achieved this dream. Their next target is to win the Champions League. It would be interesting to see if the French club would be able to achieve this target this year.
