Newcastle United are reportedly weighing up a move for Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos as per the report in Spanish outlet El Nacional.
The German international joined Los Blancos back in 2014 from Bayern Munich for around €25 million. The midfielder took no time to settle down in the Spanish capital and became an integral part of Santiago Bernabeu’s recent success, winning three consecutive Champions League titles and two La Liga trophies.
According to the report, Newcastle United are looking to rebuild their squad under the new Saudi-backed ownership and they have identified Toni Kroos as their priority option for the midfield position.
The Magpies are willing to spend around €30 million for the technically gifted German midfielder who has less than two years remaining in his current contract. The Premier League club is looking to spend big in the upcoming transfer window. And they are eyeing a squad overhaul in 2022.
