Nico Schulz, according to his agent is ready for a move away from Borussia Dortmund this summer. But this could only happen if the club’s situation improves.
Roger Wittman on Nico Schulz
Roger Wittman, Schulz’s agent spoke to Bild confirming that the former German international is tired of the silverware drought over the past years. He also stated that the club didn’t let him start many games in the league.
“Nico has not played, is dissatisfied with himself, is looking for a new sporting challenge, and is very open to a change,”
“That’s how it is. If it doesn’t fit, you don’t appreciate yourself anymore but he won’t change just so he has changed.
On the other hand, if looking for a new club doesn’t seem ideal for the defender, he could stay. Because caution is better than cure and one can not experiment with his career.
Due to that reason, Witterman also stated,
“Schulz will go to a goa notch would allow him to take a break from Germany and re-establish his confidence.
He’d also be battling for a spot in one of Europe’s top tournaments on a regular basis. Apart from all this, the Fenerbache fans would certainly welcome him with love and respect.
Borussia Dortmund’s take on Schulz
Apart from Schulz, Borussia Dortmund has been attempting to get rid of a lot of deadwood in the ago quarter in order to cut down a little bloated roster and develop a more compact and efficient team.
The five-time Bundesliga champions believe that the 29-year-old is more likely to leave the club. Having a lot of options to use in the left-back position, selling him wouldn’t be a problem.
The whole situation looks like a win-win situation for Dortmund and Schulz. The club has nothing to lose from Schulz and the player doesn’t seem to regret leaving the club.
