Ousmane Dembele was given one last chance to decide his future in Barcelona. The club wants him to come to a conclusion before June 30th.
Dembele joined Barcelona from Dortmund in 2017 for a whopping £90 million. However, the Frenchman has been under speculations about leaving the Blaugrana for a long time now. The club finally chose to call it quits by placing an ultimatum on the table for Ousmane Dembele.
Interests from England
Reports have claimed that Premier League giants Chelsea are running after the 25-year-old’s signature. The Blues are in desperate replacement for Romelu Lukaku who failed to meet expectations.
Thomas Tuchel has shown interest in the World Cup winner & also is confident due to their stints in Dortmund back in 2017. These speculations on the other hand have only angered the Spaniards due to transfer complications.
A complication in Dembele’s wages
Ousmane Dembele demands heavy salaries despite noting the club’s financial situation. Manager Xavi Hernandez was able to bring out the spark in the youngster in a few matches. The former Barca player even proved Dembele could be a star player.
Barcelona’s financial crisis
The club doesn’t appreciate players who consider themselves above the badge. Ousmane Dembele falls into that category in not agreeing to a cut in wages. This forced the club & the player to come to terms with deciding where things will go from there.
Signing Lewandowski & a tight budget
Barcelona is going all out in trying to bring Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski to Camp Nou. Sadly for the Catalans, Bayern is not willing to sell the Pole for less than £75 million according to the latest transfer updates.
The club has been on a tight budget & La Liga regulations restrict them from all four sides. The club is taking careful steps in terms of its bank balance and isn’t happy with Dembele’s salary drama.
Barcelona had ups and downs regarding Dembele’s time in Blaugrana. But the club has to balance its finances and sign new players for the 2022-23 season. This creates merely little or no place for the Frenchman to start games.
In conclusion, no matter what Dembele decides on the ultimatum that has been placed before him, Barcelona won’t be affected by his decision. The club is a legacy and the 25-year-old is simply a small part of it.
