Paris Saint-Germain could lose this player to their rivals

PSG youngster duo Arsenal

Paris Saint-Germain is on the verge of losing Djeidi Gassama to Nice. Luis Campos, PSG’s legal advisor has already spoken with the player regarding a transfer.

Djeidi Gassama Southampton-bound ticket was obstructed in the form of a transfer offer from PSG’s rivals Nice. Even though the specifics of the offer Nice is prepared to make to PSG are still unknown, they seek an unrestricted move for Gassama.

Gassama’s time in Paris

The 18-year-old debuted for PSG in 2021 in the penultimate game of the season. He stepped in Parc Des Princes and the team won 4-0. The only previous time the 18-year-old has been a member of PSG’s senior starting lineup was a bench place against Angers the previous month.

Last season, Gassama was a standout in the UEFA Youth League, boasting 8 goal contributions. The PSG U19 team won their group, which also featured Club Brugge from Belgium, RB Leipzig from the Bundesliga, and the Mighty Manchester City. However, they were ousted by RB Leipzig in the playoffs.

Other Europeans eyeing Gassama

There have been reports according to the Foot Mercato, that OGC Nice is working really hard to hire the Frenchman. Subsequently, Paris does not seem to have intentions of holding on to the youngster due to his performance. Moreover, they have enough talent in the central part of their court like Marco Verratti, Julian Draxler, and much more.

However no information on the specifics of a potential Nice deal has yet surfaced, it would entail a move. The PSG-Nice nexus has been increasingly popular in recent times during the transfer season as a result of the likely impending move of Nice manager C. Galtier to the French capital.

With Mauricio Pochettino’s fate at Paris Saint-Germain unknown and the Argentine apparently on the verge of losing his job, Southampton may find themselves the unexpected winners in the race to sign Djeidi Gassama.
