Pierre Ekwah is a Potential Target for Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace could be adding to their midfield ranks in January as reports link them with a move for Sunderland starlet Pierre Ekwah.

Crystal Palace needs Reinforcement

More players are desperately needed for Roy Hodgson’s team, especially in the midfield and attack. Over the past several months, the team has had a terrible run of luck. That has left them looking worn out and the manager on the edge of leaving.
Jean-Philippe Mateta is practically certain to depart the team, hence a forward is thought to be the priority. However, there are now some transfer rumours involving the midfield.

There have been a few names brought out recently that Crystal Palace is interested in, but the most recent one could be the most intriguing.

TeamTalk claims that Crystal Palace will have fierce competition. As they start to express interest in Sunderland’s 21-year-old midfielder Pierre Ekwah. West Ham let him go in January.

Interest in Pierre Ekwah

The centre midfielder is reportedly attracting significant interest from Premier League teams Fulham, Crystal Palace, and Nottingham Forest. They may try to make a deal when the transfer market reopens in January, according to the source.

With this, the Black Cats would quickly recoup their investment. When the midfielder came from West Ham’s junior system in January of last year.

The Frenchman, who turns 22 in January, would be an intriguing addition to Palace and bring a player who is improving quickly to the team.

It’s interesting to see that West Ham, which wants to reclaim their previous young potential, is competing against the Eagles. Sunderland won’t be eager to let him go, though, and even though Transfermarkt values him at just £430k. It’s likely that he would really cost a lot more.

Even so, considering that Palace will have Premier League funding to lure the Frenchman to Selhurst Park, a cost will surely be within their means.
