PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino is not sure if Kylian Mbappe wants to stay with them or not. The Argentine was speaking to the press, before his sides Ligue 1 match against Reims.
Mbappe has been in the middle of a transfer saga, with the Frenchman looking to move to Real Madrid. When asked about his player’s future, however, Pochettino was not sure.
Pochettino told the press that Mbappe has not talked to him about leaving PSG. Real Madrid recently launched a €180 million bid, including add-ons for the World Cup winner. But, PSG has rejected the bid and is only looking to sell him on their terms.
MBAPPE PREPARED WELL FOR THE GAME, SAYS POCHETTINO
“Kylian has prepared himself well for tomorrow’s game.” – replied Pochettino when asked if Mbappe will play the game. He also went onto confirm that the club and its sporting director is very clear about the situation regarding the 22-year-old.
However, the off-field events did not have much effect on Mbappe as he was part of the team against Reims. The French superstar started the match and scored both the goals as PSG won their 4th straight match in the French top flight.
The game also was special, as Lionel Messi made his first appearance as a PSG player. In a shocking transfer, Messi moved on a free to Paris from Barcelona a few days back. The Argentine came on as a substitute for Neymar in the 66th minute of the match.
With only one more day remaining for the transfer window to close, there is a lot of speculation around Mbappe’s future. However, with PSG not budging on their demands, a move is very unlikely. This could mean that Real Madrid fans will have to wait for another year for the arrival of Mbappe.
