PSG restart negotiations with Rennes for youngster Eduardo Camavinga

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Today, Eduardo Camavinga is the priority of Paris Saint-Germain for the coming weeks. The arrival of Wijnaldum in PSG does not affect the arrival of Camavinga. On the contrary, Paris Saint-Germain intends to associate the two players on the field.

The price is still a subject of negotiation between the 2 clubs. Rennes is fully aware of the potential of the young player. Therefore, the club is asking for €100 million. Following the discussion regarding the fee, the PSG asked for some additional time to think over the decision.

But PSG is aware that Rennes is not really in a position of strength. Camavinga is at the end of his contract with the Breton club in June 2022. Moreover, he has already said he does not want to extend. Eduardo Camavinga has never hidden his interest in PSG.

Camavinga wants to move to PSG

Paris Saint-Germain is about to make an offer of around €60 million including bonuses to buy Eduardo Camavinga. The young player is also being targeted by other clubs. Hence Paris Saint-Germain will make an offer that Rennes will be forced to accept. It will probably be the last offer of PSG, which does not intend to go higher for a player at the end of his contract in a year.

As for Eduardo Camavinga, he has already told the PSG management that he wants to sign. According to him, it is the perfect choice to take a step forward while remaining a few more years in Ligue 1 to grow in serenity. He then considers a career abroad. Nicolas Holveck warned a few weeks ago in press conferences that if he does not extend his contract the departure will be inevitable.

“With Eduardo, the situation is always the same. I’ve known Jonathan Barnett (his representative) for a while, we have calls every 15 days or so, so now that the Championship is over. We’re going to sit down with Eduardo, with Jonathan Barnett, see what we can do. If Eduardo can do one more season at Rennes, we will not miss it. If he doesn’t extend, we’ll have to consider a departure solution, that’s obvious. » – Nicolas Holveck, president of the Rennes stadium for 18 years.

Eduardo Camavinga had to sign a new contract at Rennes before the resumption on June 28. After this date, he will be placed on the market to avoid seeing him sign freely with another club in six months. Rennes will need to move quickly to settle this case to make the most of it.
