Dutch defender Denzel Dumfries have caught the eyes of top clubs with his impressive performance so far in Euro 2020. Sky Germany has reported that Bayern Munich are interested in signing the 25-year-old.

Dumfries plays for the Dutch team PSV Eindhoven. The right-back has impressed in the Eredivise and has elevated his status with the performance with his national side. Bayern are looking at the possibility of signing the defender who has a contract till 2023 at his club.

The Bundesliga giants are looking to rebuild under new manager Julian Nagelsmann. Bayern considers Dumfries as the excellent option in the right-back area.

HIGH FLYING DUMFRIES

Denzel Dumfries has been impressive for PSV Eindhoven. The right-back has played 124 times for his club. During this period, he has scored 16 goals for them, while providing 20 assists. His performance also earned him 21 caps for his national side.

The 25-year-old has featured in all the three group stage matches of the Netherlands in the Euro 2020. He scored his first goal for his nation in the first match of the group stage against Ukraine. Dumfries soon followed it up with another goal against Austria and helped his side in qualifying to the round of 16.

Dumfries has shown his quality on the attacking side and has the hallmark of a modern-day full-back. He is good aerially and also does a decent job in defence. The Dutch international has shown his ability to play in a right wing-back position as well in his time with his national side.

DUMFRIES THE PERFECT SOLUTION FOR BAYERN

Bayern Munich currently have Benjamin Pavard and Bouna Sar as the only option in the right-back position. With Pavard expressing his interest to play in the center of defense and Sar not impressing enough, Bayern will prioritize the signing of a new right-back.

New boss Juliann Nagelsmann is known for playing three at the back defense. He uses his wing-backs to provide the width and attack his opponents. Thus signing Dumfries will be an excellent option as he matches the criterion. His pace and ability to go forward have made the German champions interested in him.

However, the only issue reported is the price tag. Dumfries is having a release clause of a relatively cheap €15 million. But Bayern seems to be reluctant to spend that much on the player. This could potentially leave the door open for other clubs to come in for the defender especially after his performance in the Euro,
