Pundits clash live on air after West Ham United win over Tottenham

Pundits Jamie O’Hara, Dean Saunders and Jason Cundy clashed live on air after West Ham secured a victory over Tottenham on Thursday. Speaking on talkSPORT after the game, O’Hara went on a rant about how Spurs, his former team, “can’t get beat” by the Hammers after James Ward-Prowse’s goal earned a 2-1 win for West Ham.

Saunders and Cundy both then responded by saying West Ham are a good team. To this, an angry O’Hara asked them, “are you winding me up?” He then went on another tirade about how poorly the North London club performed.

‘You can’t get beat by West Ham, you can’t’

“We’ve lost four out of five and we got a point against Manchester City in the dying moments,” O’Hara said. “I know the squad is thin, I know it isn’t great, but come on. That’s still a good team out there, you can’t get beat. You can’t get beat by West Ham, you can’t.”

“West Ham are a decent team,” responded a baffled Saunders.

“They are a good side, mate,” added Cundy.

“Alright, yeah, they’re a good side,” an animated O’Hara replied after another round of arguement. “But you can’t lose that game as a Tottenham fan, as Tottenham players, as the managers knows. We’ve picked up one point in four and we go into the West Ham game, you can’t lose that game.”

Doesn’t take long for times to change

Not so long ago O’Hara was making fun of West Ham’s Europa Conference League victory last season. At the same time he was singing praises of how good this new Tottenham team are.

Fast forward a few weeks and Spurs are without a win in their last five Premier League matches, with the Hammers sitting just three points behind them in the table.

When the two teams faced on Thursday, Spurs started off very strong in the first half. However, West Ham upped their tempo in the second half, forcing errors from the Spurs players. The goals from Jarrod Bowen and Ward-Prowse really showed the frailties in the Spurs backline as we went on to secure another famous win at their stadium.
