Spanish outlet Fichajes reported that Real Madrid is considering signing Rafael Leao in the summer. The Portuguese international’s market value is €85 million.
AC Milan’s Rafael Leao joined the club from LOSC Lille in 2019 and has been impressive. He is a highly-rated prospect and has fulfilled his potential at AC Milan. He scored nine goals and ten assists in 32 appearances this season. Hence, Real Madrid is eyeing the Portuguese international, whose market value rose to €85 million, according to Fichajes.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid are likely to seek at least one attacking reinforcement in the upcoming summer transfer window. They need to strengthen their offensive unit for several reasons. Firstly, Karim Benzema has suffered from fitness problems this season.

Furthermore, Real Madrid may have to contend with the uncertainty of Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio’s futures at the Santiago Bernabeu. As at least one of them is likely to leave, the club will need to find a replacement, which could potentially be Rafael Leao.
However, Real Madrid will face competition from other clubs, including Chelsea. Nonetheless, signing Leao may not be the best decision, given that Vinicius Junior currently plays on the left wing. Instead, signing a striker may be a more logical choice for Real Madrid, especially considering that Leao’s market value is €85 million, which is higher than what the club may be willing to pay.
According to the report, Kylian Mbappe is also a potential target for Real Madrid in the summer transfer window. It remains to be seen if either Mbappe or Leao becomes a priority signing for the Merengues at the end of the season. Real Madrid will have a tough season in the near future if they don’t bring in a forward next season.
