Real Madrid looks to strengthen the wing positions

What prevented

Real Madrid are the undisputable kings of Europe. After the European double last season, they are back to where they left off. Los Blancos are second in La Liga and also have made it to the round of 16 of the Champions League yet again. The team is looking stronger than ever with Benzema also returning from injury. It is fair to say that they had an easy UCL group as compared to other teams. But apart from that, they are firing in La Liga with Vinicius, Rodrygo, and Valverde leading from the front. Barcelona are the only team who have scored more than Los Blancos. The Blaugranas are one of the best teams in La Liga currently sitting at the top.

Apart from all this action on the pitch, Real Madrid had a successful transfer window in all aspects. There were departures but arrivals were also there. Brazilian Casemiro left but Tchaoumeni has been terrific since his arrival. Antonio Rudiger arrived from Chelsea as a free agent and has settled in really well. Apart from that, Los Blancos have managed to keep their squad’s core intact. It must be said that this was a particularly less active window for them because not many departures took place. There are a lot of ageing players in the squad which is why new signings are imminent.

Reports say that Real Madrid have their eyes set on next year already. There are a few positions that Ancelotti is looking to improve upon. The position that Los Blancos desperately want to improve is midfield. Jude Bellingham is one of the top talents who is pursued by so many clubs. Ancelotti is also looking to strengthen the wing position. This also led to Leroy Sane being linked to Real Madrid. Jamal Musiala is another top talent that has his name as a potential Modric replacement. They have their eyes on Endrick from Palmeiras.

Real Madrid eyes Rafael Leao from Milan

One of the players that AC Milan have no intention of selling is Rafael Leao. The Portuguese international is one of the best wingers in world football at the moment. He has absolutely taken Serie A by storm and played a big part in their title conquest last season. Paolo Maldini has confirmed various times that Milan is the best place for Leao and will continue to be. But Real Madrid have eyed him as an Eden Hazard replacement. The 23-year-old will surely love to play in Spain but nothing is confirmed yet.

Reports say that Leao has agreed to a contract extension but if Real Madrid comes in with an official offer, things may take a turn. However, one issue is that Los Blancos are not willing to pay a huge figure for Leao. They will prefer if he does not renew with Milan and will be available for a bargain price or even as a free agent.
