Real Madrid Play Leganes in 1-1 friendly

El Clasico

Real Madrid resumes their La Liga title defense after the World cup ends on the 18th of December. Los Blancos are 2 points behind rivals Barcelona who has had a tremendous start to the season. Robert Lewandowski is the leading goalscorer in La Liga at the moment as he has settled in really well in the city. Meanwhile, the World cup has captured all the headlines for the past few weeks as it continues to surprise the world. The Qatar 2022 world cup final sees Argentina and France battle it out for football’s ultimate prize.

But the hustle has not stopped in Madrid as a strong comeback is needed to beat Barcelona. Real Madrid had several players who were in the city only due to international retirement and world cup exclusions. The time was taken by the club to conduct a friendly between Leganes and Real Madrid behind closed doors. The friendly game had 2 halves of 30 minutes each, just to get the players in the grooves once again. Toni Kroos was the player for Madrid who found the net while Karim Benzema is back in action for Los Blancos. The striker was out since the start of the world cup due to an injury suffered in training.

David Alaba also was a part of the friendly game with Andriy Lunin in goal. Mendy, Vasquez, Nacho, and Vallejo formed the backline with the midfield guarded by the ever-reliant Toni Kroos. Mariano Diaz partnered up with Benzema up front with Odriozola on the wings. Carlo Ancelotti also took this time to also have some Castilla graduates get playing time. The likes of Carlos Dotor, and Rafa Marin also featured. Real Madrid kick off their La Liga Campaign on 30th December against Real Valladolid. Ancelotti will hope to have his squad available by that time.

Real Madrid seals Endrick deal

While the World cup final is days away, Real Madrid have bagged yet another signing for the future. Los Blancos have sealed the signing of Brazilian wonderkid Endrick from Palmeiras. Los Blancos had to bring the checkbook for this one as they paid £60 million for the 16-year-old. Many eyebrows are raised as doubts are there about whether this money would be worth it. Endrick would move to Real Madrid in 2024 when he turns 18.

Real Madrid have beaten several top clubs like PSG, Barcelona, and Chelsea who tried to convince Endrick to join them. But Florentino Perez was able to convince the teenager’s family and strike a deal with them and the club. Endrick is a signing for the future as he grabbed headlines for being the youngest goalscorer to score for Palmeiras.
