Real Madrid Suffer a Huge Blow in PSG’ Kylian Mbappe Pursuit

Kylian Mbappe’ move to Real Madrid may have hit a barrier if as per reports, Mauricio Pochettino is set to become Paris Saint-Germain’s next manager.

Thomas Tuchel was relieved of his duties on the eve of Christmas after he had guided his team to a huge win one last time.

He had a successive period there for 2 years. But the French champions had a bad start to this season but now they are currently 3rd with just a point behind the top.

Kylian Mbappe to sign a new deal, blow to Real Madrid:

Mbappe initially moved to PSG on-loan from AS Monaco in 2017. In 2018, he became the 2nd most expensive player and also the most expensive teenager when he made his move permanent for £200 million. He has already entered the club’s all-time goalscorer list with 104 goals to his name so far.

The Frenchman rose to stardom under Tuchel. But, it was said that there was tension between the two. If the German coach was to continue, Mbappe could have joined Real Madrid in the future.

The 22-year-old striker’s contract is set to expire in 2022. If a club was to approach for his signature, a bid around  £150 million would do. But given the current scenario, he might sign a new contract with the club. If this happens, any bid below  £220 million won’t be accepted.

Mbappe might request to insert a release-clause of  £250 million if Real Madrid were to come calling.

What now for Real Madrid?

It will be really agitating for Los Blancos if Mbappe will sign the new deal. Real Madrid was keeping a close eye on both the manager as well as the player. With Zinedine Zidane’s future a little hazy, Pochettino was to be his replacement.

But the situation where PSG would sack Tuchel was not taken into account. With Pochettino as their potential replacement, Mbappe might consider giving his style of play a try and sign a new contract soon.

This will make things more complicated and Real might have to start looking for alternative options.
