In the upcoming summer transfer window, Real Madrid is expected to make Jude Bellingham their number one target. It’s been circulating for months now, and it’s not hard to see why that might be the case. It is safe to say that the Borussia Dortmund star is one of the most promising prospects in the game at the moment.
Despite being just 19, Bellingham already has a stellar pedigree. The Bundesliga considers him one of its best players. His Champions League performances have been numerous. As a teenager, he captained a historic club like Borussia Dortmund.
During the recent World Cup, he was perhaps England’s top performer. As a result, it is easy to see why some of the world’s biggest clubs are interested in Bellingham next summer. One of them is Real Madrid.
Real Madrid to consider signing Napoli star
Nevertheless, signing Bellingham will not be easy. The likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG are also believed to be interested in signing him. Real must therefore have alternative targets.
According to Cadena SER, if the Bellingham transfer fails, Real Madrid could instead turn to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Among the standout performers in Serie A this season has been the Napoli star. He also performed quite well in the UEFA Champions League.
It is fair to say that Kvaratskhelia has been the season’s most surprising player. The Italian club’s supporters nickname him ‘Kvaradona’ due to his status as a bona fide superstar since his signing in the summer.
Across all competitions this season, Kvaratskhelia has contributed 11 goals and 14 assists for Napoli according to Transfermarkt. His position and role in the team would not make him a like-for-like alternative to Bellingham. Nevertheless, he would be a top notch signing if Real Madrid goes for him.
