Real Madrid was warned by the Flamengo star

What prevented

Real Madrid shocked Europe by winning the Champions League last season. It was their record 13th Champions league trophy. The Spanish giants defeated PSG and Manchester City to reach the final. In the final, they defeated Liverpool FC 1-0 to win.

Being the Champions of Europe, Madrid will participate in the FIFA Club World Cup, where they will face Brazilian side Flamengo.

Flamengo defeated fellow Brazilian side Athletico Paranaense 1-0, advancing undefeated to their third Copa Libertadores championship. Gabriel Barbosa was the star of the match as he scored the only goal to win the game for Flamengo.

Real Madrid will face Flamengo in Club World Cup

Copa Libertadores is the premier club competition in South America. Flamengo, the winner, will likely face Real Madrid in the same competition. Arturo Vidal issued a warning to Real Madrid following their win.

Gabriel Barbosa, most commonly known as Gabigol, spoke about their intention to face Real Madrid in an interview with AS.

“We are celebrating the Libertadores title, and there is still a season to complete. Then it will be time to think about the Club World Cup. Without a doubt, Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world, the biggest winner of the Champions League, and has an incredible history.

“We already had the opportunity to play in a World Cup final against Liverpool, and our team competed well. You can rest assured that we will be prepared.”

Gabigol is a known name in Brazil. His European stint with Inter Milan did not go as planned. However, since returning to Flamengo, he has been their star forward. In 185 official matches for the club, he has scored 113 goals. The standout ability from his game is his technical quality to drop between lines and receive the ball.
