Barcelona made a very important signing in Jules Kounde this summer. The Blaugrana signed the French International from Sevilla after beating competition from Chelsea. However, the club was not able to register the French defender in time for the start of the La Liga season.
However, It is reported that the club has now completed the registration of Jules Kounde. The French international is likely to be available for the clash and make his debut against Real Valladolid. The news will come as a sigh of relief for the manager, Xavi Hernandez who identified Jules Kounde as a priority target.
The French international is a long-term successor for Gerard Pique who is coming to an end of his career. Barcelona has strengthened their defense in this transfer window by signing Jules Kounde and Andreas Christensen. The Danish international had been registered before the start of the season. But the Frenchman has been able to complete his registration after two match weeks.
Jules Kounde has been registered due to another French defender
The former Sevilla defender has been waiting for his opportunity to prove his mettle at Camp Nou. However, the registration issues had delayed his debut. The transfer of Samuel Umtiti to Lecce in Italy has made it possible for the club to register the player. The defender has joined the Italian club on loan for the 2022/23 season.
The club has also cut down certain add-ons from the contracts of other players. This is to help the club in registering the new signing, Jules Kounde. La Liga has given the Blaugrana permission to register Jules Kounde and add him to the squad.
The Spanish league has allowed the registration without any further player sales from Barcelona. The club is no longer under pressure to part ways with Memphis Depay and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang this summer. However, an agreement for the latter is close to completion with Chelsea. Barcelona wants to sign Marcos Alonso from Chelsea to bolster the options at the Left-back position and thus will need to offload one player to register the prospective signing.
Nevertheless, the registration of Jules Kounde is a great news for Barcelona as they look to bridge the gap between them and Real Madrid this season!!
