Ritwik Kumar Das completes move to Jamshedpur FC

The Red Miners have successfully comepleted the signing of Ritwik Kumar Das from Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters. The 24-year-old Mohun Bagan academy product has will be joining the side just before the start of their upcoming season. Having finished last season at 6th, Jamshedpur FC would want to give a better performance this season.

Ritwik is a versatile player who can play on any wing position on the right. From being a winger to a wing-mid to being a wing-back, Jamshedpur have a signed a 3 in 1 package. Apart from that, he is also comfortable playing as a defensive midfielder and as a centre-back.

Jamshedpur FC wrapped up last season with a satisying 3-2 victory over Bengaluru FC. A dominant first-half performance gave them a 3-0 advantage at the half-way mark in front of the home fans. Bengaluru FC nearly made comeback scoring 2 goals in the space of 10 minutes but it was just too late. They start this season away against East Bengal three weeks from now.

Ritwik Kumar Das and his experience will be a boost for the Red Miners

Ritwik came up through the ranks of Mohun Bagan before he was selected to play for Calcutta Customs on the CFL First Division. Soon enough he joined Kalighat MS in 2016, playing for them in the Calcutta Premier League Group B. After spending a season with them, he made his debut into the national league by joining Real Kashmir FC.

He spent 3 seasons at Real Kashmir FC with whom he played in the I-League and the 2nd Division I-League. In August 2020, Kerala Blaster roped him into their first team for the 2020/21 Indian Super League season. He made 4 appearances and left at the end of the season.

Jamshedpur FC and Ritwik Kumar Das will look at next season as a chance to improve their form. Keeping past performances aside, the team should push for a place in the play-offs this season.
