Roma interested in signing forgotten Chelsea duo

Roma are planning to sign Emerson Palmieri and Marcos Alonso from Chelsea. Jose Mourinho has been very busy scouting out the right players needed for next season. He is an experienced manager who has ruled the Serie A and the Premier League. So when Mourinho asks for a player, you don’t think further.

Emerson and Alonso did not have their best seasons at Stamford Bridge. Ever since Ben Chilwell’s arrival, the duo have been struggling for games and minutes. Alonso made grabbed 2 goals in his 15 appearances, most of them in the Premier League. Emerson made 8 appearances, 6 of which were in the Champions League getting his only goal against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16.

Roma finished 7th in the league season which means that they will be playing in the European Conference League next season. Mourinho has plans to change the club and bring it back to its glory days. Two Premier League signings can make the difference.

Roma want both the Chelsea left-backs

One of the main reasons Roma wants both the players is because Leonardo Spinazzola tore his ACL. Roma’s left-back was one of the best players until injury played spoilsport. Roma would have given him a hero’s welcome but sadly we won’t see that.

Emerson is already a second-fiddle to Spinazzola in the Italian national team. He played at left-back against Spain and had a good game. Roma can get at least one, if not both, for a really good price if they play their cards right.

For Emerson, this will be a return back to the club he has swung back and forth with multiple times in the past. Alonso too was a Serie A player with Fiorentina before joining Chelsea. He gets a fat check from Chelsea and a move would be pushed by the board.
