SC East Bengal managed to grab their first 3 points of the season at the GMC Stadium on Wednesday, overcoming a stiff challenge from FC Goa to win 2-1. Meanwhile, FC Goa continue with their inconsistency after ending their 3 match unbeaten run with a loss.





The Red & Gold Brigade were at the bottom of the table since the start of the season. However, the win finally helped them climb into 10th place. NorthEast United take their spot at the bottom with an inferior goal difference.

Meanwhile, the gap between the bottom two teams and FC Goa is now down to 4 points from 7. FC Goa’s struggles see them stay in 9th position.

Naorem Mahesh bagged a maiden brace in his career to help SC East Bengal pick up their first win of the season. This feat also saw him win the Hero of the Match award. The 22-year-old Indian came in clutch and caused troubles for the opposition’s defense on the counter. His lethal finishing decimated the opposition and helped SC East Bengal grab their first win.
