SC East Bengal have signed the coveted Rahul Paswan from BSS Sporting Club of the Calcutta Football League. The Red and Gold Brigade have struggled to compete in this season of the Indian Super League. They managed to win their only match recently when they overcame Northeast United FC.
Rahul Paswan has been bought in to address the lack of goals from their misfiring frontline. SC East Bengal have scored 13 goals from their 11 matches, the 2nd-lowest in the league.
The 23-year-old forward has already bagged 6 goals in the Calcutta Football League. The striker has been given a 6-month contract until the end of the season to prove his credentials to the franchise. He has plied his trade in the local Bengal circuit for football and has finally made it to the big stage.
There is no bigger juncture than the Indian Super League and the United Sports Club graduate has finally made it to the big bucks. It is always a pleasant sight to see an Indian make it to the big teams of the ISL and this is another instance. The ISL proves to be a benchmark and dream for local players.
